Guess I’m not the only one concerned about the safety of my social network

About a week ago I lamented that I didn't think I could trust my online social network. My own fault perhaps, but now I can better appreciate the risks of malicious "friends." Take a look at http://newsroom.mcafee.com/article_display.cfm?article_id=3607 for McAfee's predictions for 2010, among which they see cyber criminals taking greater advantage of Twitter and Facebook to make all of us less secure online. Don't know about you, but my New Year's resolution is to start "pruning" my friends list and to think twice or three times before clicking any link I am sent through Social Networking applications. Being a veteran of Microsoft in the days of questionable security and seeing what great improvements can be made when developers take security seriously, I really hope that the smart folks at Facebook/Twitter etal are spending as much time developing security as they are new applications! Happy New Year.
