Repeatable multithreaded debugging using CHESS

Tags:

Anyone who has spent time developing multithreaded applications can appreciate the amount of time effort that goes being able to reproduce errors so you can effectively troubleshoot and fix them. The group over at Microsoft Research has release an application to aid in the identification and consistent reproduction of concurrency bugs called CHESS (http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/projects/chess/). We already have two projects within MicroLink that are going to use this capability in hopes of providing repeatable unit test with multithreaded apps.
